A day with the Braves

Memorial Day game- Braves vs Phillies at Turner Field

The Phillies were ranked number one and the Braves were ranked number 2 so it was a big game with over 40,000 in attendance. Just walking past all of the tailgate parties on the way into the stadium got you excited for the afternoon baseball game.

The Beach Boys held a concert on the field after the game!

Welcome to Georgia/Meet the McGintys

First things first right? New place= good time to turn over a new leaf.

The McGinty family- Clete, Jack, Ben, Colin and Vicki

The boys. Don't let the fact that they are smiling in the picture deceive you. It is very likely that seconds before the camera flashed Ben was antagonizing his brothers, Jack was using "potty talk" and Colin left his pants somewhere nearby.

Colin, the youngest, will turn 4 on Monday! We (by we I mean Vicki of course..) will be throwing him Ben 10 birthday party on Saturday. He is very excited.
There are two very important things to know about Colin-
A: he is very tenderhearted and does not like to see his brothers get in trouble or lose their reward for something. You can often find him adamantly defending his brother's behavior as well as giving most, if not all, of his treat to a brother who lost his from dinner.
B: Colin does not like pants or underwear. You will always find him with his shirt on but more times than not with out pants. A classic example of this is from a couple of days ago when we were playing Hide and Seek. Colin went into his hiding spot with all of his clothes on but he came out with only a shirt (a safe bet would be a call from nature).

This is Ben and he is 5 years old. I don't yet have words for this one, other than defiant. Surely I can't blame him, I know what is it like to derive pleasure what defying authority. Carma comes back around and I can' t help but think of all of the teachers as well as my parents who have no remorse for my current sufferings.
However, Ben can very tender as well, especially when I am reading to him (fairy tales read in an English accent), he likes to snuggle up.

"The Terror" were the only words I could find for Jack when I first met him. Between our first trip to the grocery store and his extensive "potty talk" vocabulary, he was a force to be reckoned with. Jack is 7 years old and quickly becoming a favorite of mine. He LOVES baseball and the Wii. Jack also does a very good job of being an older brother; he likes to be in the middle of the pictures with his arms around his little brothers.

Unfortunately, my camera battery just died so I am unable to upload a family picture of the McGintys. I guess it is a good stopping point for tonight. There is more to come, including downtown Atlanta, the Braves game, Beach Boys concert, swimming, swinging and the North Point singles ward!

Goodnight!
